2020 season cancelled

8 Jul 2020 by Laura Campion

From the SJFC President.

Due to the reimplementation of stage three restrictions in the Melbourne Metro Area, the league has sadly had to cancel the 2020 season after exhausting all options.

On behalf of the SJFC, we the Committee thank the AFL Outer East for their relentless efforts in trying to make it possible for the kids to play football again this year, against all odds and totally understand and respect the decision they have made in these unprecedented times.

In regards to those who have already paid the club registration or ordered apparel, you can contact the club to discuss carrying it over to next season, getting a refund or to make other arrangements.

We the committee would like to also take this opportunity to thank our wonderful volunteers, coaches, players, families and sponsors for their continued patience and support and look forward to seeing you all back on deck next season.

As President, I would like to personally thank the efforts of the committee especially the executive committee for their contribution behind the scenes with return to training & playing meetings, though we didn’t get a season up we did all we could to ensure we were ready if it happened, thank you.

To those families who won’t be back with our junior club next season, I wish you all the best and thank you for your support and contribution during your time involved, SJFC is a great family club and only survives thanks to these families and their commitment.

Finally, I hope you all stay fit and healthy and look forward to seeing you all for the 2021 season and seeing the kids back doing what they enjoy most.

President SJFC
